Child Protection Policy
La Transplanisphère Association
The Child Protection Policy is implemented as of May 1, 2025.
1. Introduction and Commitment
La Transplanisphère is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children involved in its activities. In accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and the Keeping Children Safe International Child Safeguarding Standards, we affirm that every child has the right to protection from all forms of abuse, exploitation, and neglect.
This policy applies to all staff members, volunteers, interns, consultants, partners, and anyone acting on behalf of the association.
2. Definitions
Child: Any person under the age of 18.
Abuse: Any act or omission that harms the physical, emotional, or psychological integrity of a child, including sexual, physical, or emotional abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

4. Scope of the Policy
This policy covers all activities involving children, whether in person or online, as well as interactions with partners and subcontractors.
5. Recruitment, Vetting, and Training of Staff
Safe recruitment procedures:

All positions involving contact with children are clearly identified in job postings.

Job descriptions specify child protection responsibilities.

A probationary period is included in every employment contract.
Continuous training:

All staff members, volunteers, and interns receive initial and regular training on child protection, recognizing signs of abuse, and procedures to follow in case of suspicion or reporting.

An annual reminder of the policy and procedures is organized.
6. Code of Conduct

All members of the association must sign the code of conduct relating to child protection.

The following are prohibited: any form of violence, humiliation, offensive language or gestures, discrimination, favoritism, or inappropriate physical contact with a child.

Interactions with children must always respect their dignity and privacy.
7. Reporting Procedures and Mechanisms

Anyone (staff, child, family, partner, public) can report a concern or incident through a dedicated channel (designated contact: the President of the association).
8. Responsibilities and Accountability

The Board of Directors ensures the implementation and annual review of the policy.

A monitoring committee, including the child protection focal point, oversees implementation, training, and evaluation of practices.

An annual report on the implementation of the policy is published and accessible online.
9. Communication and Transparency

The child protection policy is published on La Transplanisphère’s website and communicated to all partners, families, and beneficiaries.

Resources and contact information for support are made available to children and families.
10. Review and Continuous Improvement

The policy is reviewed annually to incorporate legal developments, feedback, and international best practices.

Stakeholders, including children and families, are consulted during revisions.
This policy is inspired by the international standards of Keeping Children Safe and European best practices in child protection. Its aim is to ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for every child involved in La Transplanisphère’s activities.
