GRESYS – Green Stories from Youth to Stage is a dynamic European initiative uniting young talents from Italy (Palermo) and France (Paris).

Participants encompass aspiring actors undergoing professional training and secondary school students alike.
The aim is to raise their awareness of the goals of the 2030 Agenda (UN, Green Deal) by questioning their relationship
to the challenges of the ecological transition through theatre.

The project is led by the ALTER EGO (X) Company (Annecy, France), in partnership with the Teatro Alla Guilla (Palermo, Italy) and La Transplanisphère (Paris, France). It is supported by Erasmus+ Youth.

For La Transplanisphère, the project is an extension of LeCAKE Train, that explores the ecological transition of the European cultural sector.
It is also an echo of the Europefiction Academy, which promotes artistic creation among young people as a vehicle for their civic engagement.

Recent surveys in Europe have shown that the pandemic has made young people feel more socially excluded and worried about the environment.

GRESYS aims to give young people in France and Italy a theatrical space to write and perform their vision of ecological issues on stage. They will be guided by professional artists from both countries.
In 2024, writing and research workshops will take place in Palermo and Paris, leading to cross-performances of the resulting plays in both cities.
