Là-bas (out there)
“Là-bas (out there) — a theatrical journey through the imaginaries of migration
Directed by Paola Capuano, Là-bas is a project hosted by La Transplanisphère and the Maison des Réfugiés, as part of a Culture Moves Europe residency funded by the European Union.
Là-bas is a theatrical creation emerging from a devising and collective creation process, presented at the Maison des Réfugiés.”
Là-bas (out there) is an imaginary place. A space of encounter, both intimate and political, where human dynamics unfold—dynamics that run through our societies as much as they inhabit us individually. At the intersection of reality and fiction, the performance explores the multiple dimensions of the migratory experience—its narratives, tensions, impulses, blind spots, and imaginaries.
Drawing on stories, testimonies, fables, and sensitive materials, the artistic team builds a collective stage form in which voices intersect and respond to one another. The creative process is rooted in a research approach to documentary and reality-based writing, attentive to the complexity of individual trajectories and to contemporary migration issues.
Conceived as a space for sharing, Là-bas offers audiences an immersive and reflective experience, inviting them to shift their perspectives and question their representations.
